More FFX fanfic junk food.

It's strangely liberating to be writing a crapass fic purely for fun, instead of laboring to hone every word.

Title: Till Death Do Us Part (Chapter 2)
Characters: Lulu, Yuna, Rikku, Tidus, Kimahri
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1564
Link: Chapter 2 ~ Belly of the Beast

EDIT: Okay, I lied. I had a compulsive fit, went back and did an eensy bit of sanding/polishing.

You. Are. A Liar. :D

Ha ha, well, sometimes I spell check :P

I never spellcheck. Once in a while, I notice my word processor's put a funny little red line under a word and think, "hey, waitaminute, that's not a personal name or Latin or Elvish, what's its beef?" But usually I haughtily ignore it, because *I* know how to spell better than it does, so there!

Not a TOTAL liar -- it was true when I first wrote this post! I flung the story out any old how and just slapped it up.

Only when I reread it last night I suddenly got the urge to start fiddling. I be obsessive compulsive.

Grammar is like an obsession for me. I have to spell check my work at least five times before I post, and even then I'm still all nervous over it. Posting shouldn't be this stressful >_

I know, I know the feeling so well. This is one of the few stories where I haven't worried and obsessed about it too much.

Of course, that's partly because I've spent umpty-odd years obsessing and absorbing grammar through the pores. Mine is by no means perfect, but between learning Latin, teaching Latin, and grading student papers, I've turned into an instinctive nitpicker!

All I can tell you is that ithe more you write and the harder you work at it, the more things like punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling become instinctive. I barely proofread or edit the papers I turn in for graduate school any more!

And on the third hand, you are absolutely right that fanfic writing is for FUN, dangit, and one shouldn't get so stressed and obsessive about it! But it's hard not to. We all wish to be appreciated. :)
