FFX Fanvid: "Crash and Burn" Auron/Lulu

Giftvid for trekqueen, as I nattered at more length in the initial posting on aulu .

"Crash and Burn" -- an Auron/Lulu fanvid
Those with broadband connections, click the title above to go to YouTube and choose the "high quality" option.
[[Edit: there's a difference, but it's not huge.]]
Music is "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence; here's the lyrics in a popup window in case you want to follow along.

I wish my conscience would stop poking me about fanvids. Square-enix doesn't seem to mind 'em, but... but.. copyright, yeah. (Sung to the tune of "Elephants, yeah.")  On the other hand, the only reason I bought this album (Fallen) was because I fell in love with the soundtrack of another AMV, and most of my music purchases in the last 2 years have been prompted by fanvid soundtracks.

Nicely done! I like the other one, too; I think you did a really nice job of evoking "Love Her and Despair" (which I really do mean to sit down and read sometime soon, I swear!)

As for the copyright issue, eh. Even aside from the argument that artists benefit from the exposure they get in fanvids and such (I've also bought at least one album because I heard one of the songs on a vid), I would argue that your use of the music is transformative, just like your rearrangement of the images, or the way we use characters, settings, plots, etc. in fanfiction. Would thinking of it that way ease your conscience at all?

Oh, it's just a twinge... but thank you!

Hey, I was thinking of that icon when I was working on the vid! Having spent two years making/viewing icons really helped; it was easier to think of a mental image that might map to a line.

Except I see I forgot to check the lyrics... d'oh! It's "without a soul;" I thought it was "you fill my soul." Still works.
