Bah. I am such a review whore. Must...resist...

I keep getting the urge to crosspost my pathetic little icons on more icon communities. Next time. After the next batch. I'm being a hypocrite, because unlike writing, I'm not leaving much feedback for icon designers or artists.

Why that is, I don't know, except one can't be everywhere!

However, I was somewhere last night. I went to my third Dodgers game, YAY! And it was a real humdinger, back and forth and back and forth with one team taking the lead and then the other, spectacular plays, a few home runs (by our best guy and theirs, but their best guy is...oh, I can't say it, I don't need to be getting into a fight with owlmoose who's rooting for Them!) Annyway. It was SO much fun, and I got back around 1AM because of traffic/distance. I just...gosh. I can't explain without geeking.

Though I will say that despite my misgivings about a certain player on the Giants' lineup, I was not joining in the boo-chorus. I will not boo anybody, and the boo-birds are the one thing I don't like about the game. I just cheered and clapped with a little more gusto when one of our pitchers struck him out.

Nomar Garciaparra got hit SIX TIMES this week by pitches. SIX. And last night's home run was a thing of beauty. He almost didn't make the all-star team because ...I have NO idea why, but he got voted in by fans, since the guy's come off a few years of injuries to become the best hitter in the national league. His average from the 7th inning on is a frickin' .600, and it's in the paltry mid-300s for the rest of each game. Also, he's good on defense. And he's modest -- he gave credit to everyone other than himself, when interviewed.

Okay, enough with the baseball geeking. In other news, I have too many papers to write and it's causing me to want to fiddle with graphics instead of write. Meep. Expect slow updates for a while.

And my cat is hobbling, but she's being social and talkative again instead of wedging herself in a back corner of the closet, so I think she's not hurting so much. Poor babe. I think she's gonna be okay.

And oh, I nearly forgot the point of this post, which was to show the silly icons I made of owlmoose and her cat Tori. The Tori-icon is a retouched photo by selfsame moosey person. The owl is a Burrowing Owl, which looks even sillier in real life. They are marvellous: Owls On Stilts. The moose was from some gory hunter's photo I didn't bother to save.

I will leave my remarks on Our Best Guy at this and this alone: anyone who thinks his numbers are the only ones tainted by subtance use should study their baseball history.

I love my owl on stilts. And my wild-eyed kitty. Honesty compels me to admit, however, that I did not take the cat photo. That would be my husband, T. ;)
